Dear Patients,
It is with a heavy heart that I am making the announcement that we are moving out of the Bay Area. Over the holiday break, my husband and I made the decision to move as a family from the Bay Area to Dallas, Texas.
My husband Anil has been traveling frequently for work for many years now. He is back on the road and the plan was to have him continue his travels while I stayed here with kids and my office, but this has been a bit challenging. As many of you also know I made a quick trip to India to see my mom earlier in the fall. My mother’s health issues also made us reevaluate our plans. I need flexibility to make more frequent and longer trips to India, which is not currently possible with my husband’s travel schedule, managing the kids and the practice. Keeping these challenges in mind, we had to come to this very difficult decision.
I was lucky to get this office from Dr.’s Nelson and Magee in 2012 and have been wonderful mentors. It’s been gratifying working in collaboration and learning from the specialists in the area. It is a wonderful dental community and I have enjoyed being a part of it. I am eternally thankful to Phuong and Lauren for the wonderful work ethic and dedication they bring to this office. They also bring joy and laughter, and I would not have made it without their help and support. Most important of all, I am tremendously grateful for the trust, kindness and support from all of you. To be a part of your dental health and lives has been the greatest honor for me. I am going to miss every one of you!
To ensure a smooth transition, I began the search for someone I believed was nice and gentle and respected professionally. After an extensive search and meeting many other dentists, I believe I found the best fit with Dr. Vivian Broadway. Dr. Broadway is an experienced dentist, who shares my ethics and passion for providing the highest quality dental care. She had been practicing dentistry for the past 27 years in the same building as my office. She has recently relocated to a larger new facility around the corner at 25 Evergreen Avenue, Suite #1. She and her husband (a Mill Valley native) have lived in Mill Valley for 26 years and have raised 2 daughters. Her family has been actively involved in the local community for many years. Her character is beyond reproach, and her personality is one that puts people at ease.
To maintain the greatest possible continuity in treatment and quality of care for patients and referring doctors, I have been discussing the transition with Dr. Broadway to make sure that she will be attuned to the office and all of you. I will also be around for some time to ensure we have a very smooth transition.
I sincerely thank you for your support and confidence, and I hope that you will express the same trust and confidence in Dr. Broadway. She eagerly looks forward to meeting all of our wonderful patients in her new office and continuing to help you and your dental needs. I feel comfortable that I am leaving you in the hands of an extremely competent and caring professional.
Warm Regards,
Sonia
Thank you Dr. Raina for your kind words of support. While we are sad to see you go, we wish you success and health as you focuses on your family.
For patients of Dr. Raina, we are honored and excited to be able to continue to provide you with the excellent care that you have become accustomed to. But first, I would like to introduce myself and my team.
I was born and raised in Southern California and began my migration to beautiful Northern California by attending UC Santa Barbara where I graduated with honors and a degree in biopsychology. I then received my degree in dentistry from UCSF and was excited to have the opportunity to begin my family practice in Mill Valley where my husband, James, was born and raised. We have lived in Mill Valley for 27 years and we have enjoyed being part of our community and are thankful to have raised our 2 daughters here.
It was at 141 Camino Alto, where we both had practiced, that I had the privilege of meeting and collaborating with Dr. Raina. At the start of 2022, I relocated to a new, larger office less than a mile away at 25 Evergreen Avenue (behind the Whole Foods on Miller).
I enjoy being a family dentist and have provided comprehensive dental care for people ages 1-100. We are strong believers in a personalized approach to dentistry. Our dental team collaborates to provide an individual, comprehensive plan that embraces the long-term health needs of every patient. We strive to provide the most comfortable, calm, stress-free, and effective treatment for all of our patients.
My practice is now entering its 27th year and I love my profession as much as ever and continue to grow my knowledge in the field of dentistry. I have attended seminars and workshops at the Spear Institute and have completed a mini-residency in sleep health at UCLA Dental School and an Orthodontic Aligner Seminar through Progressive Orthodontics.
At our new location, you will notice some familiar faces as Lauren will continue to work as a Patient Care Coordinator in our newly merged practice. We also have Lauren and CC as part of our dental hygiene team and they are thrilled to reconnect with you. My patients have been happy that parking is much easier now and there are no stairs to have to navigate.
I look forward to meeting you in person at our new office. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or stop in for a visit and meet our team.
Best regards,
Dr. Broadway
